Here is what a day looks like to us…although today was special.
Today was “back to school” day…a day I thought I wouldn’t have to experience again until I had kids.
7:30 a.m.: Make a breakfast of french toast sandwiches with peanut butter & bananas + coffee with coconut milk & cinnamon
8:30 a.m.: Ready to head to school…we feel scared and as if we’re kids going back to school after summer vacation.
9:30 a.m.: Beat traffic and make it to school early! There are 10 people in our class…
12:30 p.m.: Drive to the nearest liked restaurant for salads
1:30 p.m.: Decide to try to find a new German Brewery. Get lost & instead end up at our favorite Irish Pub to drink a Guinness while doing homework.
2:30 p.m.: Beers drank and tired of learning Thai – Time to go home!
3:30 p.m.: Indulge in an afternoon snack of sliced mango, homemade trail-mix and a MOVIE!
6:30 p.m.: Time to get some work done and hydrate! [Note: We've recently been paying to get our water delivered to us. It's like the milk man concept: full bottles come in, empty bottles go out & get reused! Lovely!]
8:30 p.m.: Different location, same plans: working, working, working! [Note: I'm writing this very blog post. Trippy! Chais is making a spreadsheet for our budget. Isn't our pile of receipts impressive?]
9:30 p.m.: A late supper = a late trip to the market for food: Pad see you + warm soy milk with jellies & donuts!
10:30 p.m.: Plan to read a ‘guilty pleasure’ book until sleep takes over.
…Life is pretty dang good!
Did you like this style of post? Would you like us to continue doing “A Day in the Life” posts? If you decided to take photos of your day, how would it look? Would you try to make your life appear more exciting/less exciting?

Loved the post!!! Especially the pic of Chais looking all grumpy with his backpack and you giving him a “give me a break” look…

We’ve have been taking turns saying “Please don’t make me go to Thai school.”…but once we’re there we learn a lot and have loads of fun with our new friends!
Bernie Murrish
I didn’t think “kids” going to school were allowed to drink beer. LOL Great post.

…ah, it just puts some hair on our chest …or is that coffee?!
Angela
What did your classroom look like? What nationalities were the other students? How old was your teacher? A Thai teacher?
Shawna Meyer
Good questions Angela:
1. The classroom is just a square white room with several long tables facing a white board. Nothing too special about it! I’ll try to take photos and post them to Facebook in the near future.
2. We have a mix of nationalities in the classroom: 1 Russian, 1 Austrian, 1 from Denmark, 4 Americans including ourselves, 1 French lady, 2 Brazilians, a British man, and a lovely Japanese woman! Our class size keeps getting bigger. What was once 10 is now 12.
3. Our teacher appears to be younger than us. She’s a wonderful Thai woman that is funny and super cute.

Love the photos, You looked the same as you did your first day of school when you were little.
Not sure I like the drinking and driving part especially on the scooter.

Don’t worry Momma Bear, we now our limits and are responsible scooter drivers!
